Jingle Bells!

Did you notice how I went back to work and promptly stopped blogging? It might be that way from now on. But I'll try to do better.  So to catch you up on the last 6 weeks, things have been going really really well.  Holly has adjusted well to daycare and they love her there.  She's taking up to 4 hrs of naptime during the day and her appetite is insatiable.  She's also sleeping incredibly well at night, so much so that it's hard to believe we had such problems a few months back.  The eye-rubbing and yawning starts around 5:30 (!) and we try to keep her going until around 6:00 when we then change into jammies, nurse, read stories, and then lay her down in her crib.  She'll typically sleep until around 3:30am when she wakes up to top off the milk tank, but then she's back asleep until morning.  And I'm not kidding you when I say we have to wake her up at 6:30 to get ready for daycare.  This morning we didn't have work so we let her sleep as long as she wanted, and she woke up cooing and talking to herself at 7:45.  Thirteen hours!  We we up for an hour and a half before she started yawning again, and now she's taking her morning nap.  Kids, I tell ya.  Let's hope she's this darling on the plane ride to CA tomorrow.

In other news, we spent a wonderful day a couple of weeks ago participating in the Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Walk around Wash Park. Our Denver winter has been mild, to say the least, so it was a beautifully crisp day in the park to take a stroll.

The BOB Brigade

The Ickler, Allen, and Fergason families teamed together to show our jingle bell cheer as we donned santa hats and decorated the strollers with glittery garland. Here's part of our starting line up for our championship girls basketball team:

Addi Baby Nora

Addi had just turned 5 years old so she was enjoying her status as Big Girl. She loves to play with her Uncle Steve so was more than delighted to have him pop wheelies with her stroller

Uncle Steve is a pro

As if the day couldn't get better, we celebrated Addi's birthday at the Denver Zoo that evening. I couldn't believe the throngs of folks lining up front to go see the zoo lights! It looked like the entrance to Disneyland. It was still incredibly mild for a winter's night so I think all the local families were taking advantage of the weather to go see this holiday treat.

Zoo Lights

We had a cute little party room where the kids got to see and touch a lizard, a snake, and a precious little hedgehog. Cuuuuute!

Addi and the Hedgehog

After the animal show-and-tell we wandered around the zoo lights and even took a ride on the merry-go-round. It's hard to describe how exciting this all becomes once you are able to share the experience with your wee little'un. It's going to be so much fun watching our girls grow up together!
